Abstract

Performance issues in a service function chain having a plurality of resources and a plurality of network functions each having a network function queue are diagnosed. Each network function queue is monitored and queueing information for input packets for each of the plurality of network functions is dumped to a data store. Each resource that is under contention is identified as well as which of the network functions is a contender for the resources. A diagnosing algorithm is used to diagnose performance problems and an impact graph for each victim packet is generated. A summary of results as a list of rules is then provided.

Abstract

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a received channel-encoded data block having information bits, a transmitted error-check value, and redundant code bits. The redundant code bits correspond to a channel code applied to the received channel-encoded data block prior to transmission via a communication channel. A channel code type is identified and responsive to it being systematic, the information bits and the transmitted error-check value are obtained without decoding according to the channel code. The received channel-encoded data block is checked according to the transmitted error-check value to obtain a result. Responsive to the result not indicating an error, extracting the information bits without decoding the received channel-encoded data block according to the channel code. Responsive to the result indicating an error, decoding the received channel-encoded data block according to the channel code to obtain decoded information bits. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract

A system, method and computer-readable storage devices are for normalizing text for ASR and TTS in a language-neutral way. The system described herein divides Unicode text into meaningful chunks called “atomic tokens.” The atomic tokens strongly correlate to their actual pronunciation, and not to their meaning. The system combines the tokenization with a data-driven classification scheme, followed by class-determined actions to convert text to normalized form. The classification labels are based on pronunciation, unlike alternative approaches that typically employ Named Entity-based categories. Thus, this approach is relatively simple to adapt to new languages. Non-experts can easily annotate training data because the tokens are based on pronunciation alone.

Abstract

A system and method disclosed for using and updating a database of template responses for a live agent in response to user communications. The method includes computing an average string distance between each response from a live agent and a template, use to generate the response, modifying the computed average string distance based on a customer satisfaction score associated with each response and selecting a response that minimizes the computed average string distance and maximizes customer satisfaction. Upon receiving a further communication on a certain issue, the system presents a prototype response that has been added to the template database to the live agent for use in generating a response to the further communication that reduces handling time and increases customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for connecting a plurality of mobile devices in a videoconference over a cellular network via a videoconferencing server. At least one of the mobile devices includes a camera to capture a video of a participant in the videoconference. The video is transmitted to the videoconferencing server on the cellular network. The videoconferencing server edits the video and sends the edited video to receiving mobile devices in real-time. The receiving mobile devices output the video as a projection by using an internal mobile projector or transmit the video to an external display device. A sending mobile device may also act as a receiving mobile device, such that each of the participants may view video of other participants in his/her own background/environment while communicating with the other participants. In some variations, the videoconferencing server removes the background from the video and may replace the background such that the images of participants are placed in front of a new background or in each other's background.

Abstract

A Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call from a first provider to a destination telephone number served by a second provider comprises sending a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message from an originating switch to a first SIP server of the first provider. The first SIP server queries a telephone number mapping (ENUM) server of either the first, second or a third provider, and receives a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) associated with the destination telephone number. The ENUM server may be internal or external to the first provider. The first provider queries a Domain Name Service (DNS) server based on the URI, and receives an Internet Protocol (IP) address of a second SIP server of the second provider. The first SIP server and the second SIP server are used to set up a bearer path for the VoIP call between the originating switch and a destination switch.

Abstract

Exemplary embodiments relate to methods, systems, and computer program products for providing quality of service brokering in a network. Methods include receiving a data packet at a router in an Internet protocol (IP) network. The data packet includes a data packet QoS class and a data packet destination. A storage mechanism that includes possible routes to the data packet destination at the data packet QoS class is accessed. One of the possible routes is selected. The data packet is transmitted along the selected route to the data packet destination.

Abstract

Exemplary embodiments include methods, systems, and storage mediums for providing multi-media content storage and management services. From a single user interface, the method includes creating a library of content items including at least one of a photo library and a video library, creating at least one other content item including at least one of a web page, newsletter, message board, email, instant message, chat room text message, and electronic greeting, associating at least one component of the library with the at least one other content item to form an arrangement, and designating access restrictions to the arrangement. The access restrictions include the option of applying no restriction.

Abstract

A shortcut routing method to improve packet routing between a visiting mobile host connected to a subnet and a communicating host on the network or the same subnet. When a router receives an IP tunnel packet from a network interface on the visited network, it checks the inner IP packet for its final destination. If the destination IP address of the inner IP packet can be reached from the same network interface, the router decapsulates the IP tunnel packet and sends the inner IP packet directly to the communicating host on the subnet. For every outbound IP packet sent to the communicating host by the visiting mobile host, a portion of the round trip between the mobile host and home agent, is thereby eliminated. Optionally, the router can shortcut IP packets to a visiting mobile host that remains on the same subnet as the communicating host.
