Abstract

A method for preparing a chemical intermediate, 9-fluorenyl formaldehyde. The method comprises the following steps: adding industrial fluorene, a metal alkoxide and ethyl formate to a solvent, and reacting same at 30-80°C for 0.5-10 hours to obtain 9-fluorenyl formaldehyde; and after the reaction is finished, cooling same, quenching the reaction with an acid, then extracting same, adjusting the aqueous phase to a pH of less than 3, precipitating a solid, and recrystallizing same to obtain the target product.
