Abstract

A diamond wire (1) for cutting stone-like material or similar which comprises: a central supporting cable (2); a series of abrasive beads (3) which are fitted on said supporting cable (2) spaced one after the other; and an outer tubular sheath (4) made of polymeric material, which encases/covers the supporting cable (2) also interposing itself between the supporting cable (2) and the individual abrasive beads (3), so as to block the abrasive beads (3) in rigid manner on the supporting cable (2); the outer tubular sheath (4) being longitudinally divided into a succession of tubular segments which comprise first (10) and second (11) tubular segments which alternate one with the other substantially for the entire length of the supporting cable (2), and are made by injection moulding in two distinct polymeric materials which differ one from the other by polymeric composition and/or density and/or hardness and/or elastic modulus; said first tubular segments (10) being placed to cover sections of the supporting cable (2) underneath the abrasive beads (3) and being adapted to block the corresponding abrasive beads (3) in rigid manner on the supporting cable (2); said second tubular segments (11) being placed to cover the sections of the supporting cable (2) which extend between the abrasive beads (3).

A production method of a diamond wire (1) for cutting stone-like material comprising the steps of: threading a predetermined number of abrasive beads (3) on the supporting cable (2); joining the two ends (2a) of the supporting cable (2) by appropriately interweaving the strands (6) of the supporting cable (2), so as to form a closed loop; distributing the diamond beads (3) on the supporting cable (2) so that the discontinuity points (P) of the supporting cable (2) are arranged along as many uncovered longitudinal stretches (5) of the supporting cable (2) spaced from two abrasive beads (3) delimiting the same uncovered longitudinal stretch (5); and injection moulding the outer tubular sheath (4) made of plastic material directly over the supporting cable (2) so as to cover the supporting cable (2) and also form, at least along the uncovered longitudinal stretches (5) accommodating the discontinuity point (P) of the supporting cable (2), as many enlarged sheath segments (10) each extending astride the discontinuity point (P) and being spaced/distanced from the two abrasive beads (3) located at two ends of the same uncovered longitudinal stretch (5).

Abstract

A diamond wire (10) for cutting blocks of stone material and the like comprises a support cable (22) on which diamond beads (12) are present at intervals. A coaxial support element (16) is arranged between the cable and each bead (12). First fixing means (20) are provided between the support element (16) and bead (12) and second fixing means (24) are provided between the support element (16) and cable (22). The support element (16) has a helical form around the cable. This element may be advantageously formed by means of a spirally wound metallic wire. A manufacturing method is also described.

Abstract

A cutting wire for stone material designed to be wrapped around a supporting and moving device thereof of the drum or pulley type. The wire comprises a plurality of diamond beads (5) and a plurality of polymeric beads (9) coupled in a reciprocally alternated configuration to a flexible supporting structure (4), with the interposition of respective free portions (12) therebetween. Each of the polymeric beads (9) includes at least one peripheral groove (11) to promote the rotation of the wire around its axis during use. The diameter (D3) of the free portions (12) is smaller than the diameter (D2) of the polymeric beads (9) and than the diameter (D1) of the diamond beads (5) so as to minimize the points of reciprocal contact between the wire and the supporting and moving device thereof, so as to support the rotation of the wire.
