Abstract
An electric fireplace (10) for installing into a cabinet (11) having a structural opening (211A), includes a heater assembly (26), a flame generator (24) and an electrical connection assembly (249). The heater assembly (26) is configured to generate heated air. The flame generator (24) is configured to generate a simulated flame (18). The heater assembly (26) and the flame generator (24) are installed into the structural opening (211A) of the cabinet (11) independently of one another. The electrical connection assembly (249) electrically connects the heater assembly (26) and the flame generator (24) to a power source (42). The electrical connection assembly (249) includes (i) a first electrical cable assembly (249C) that is configured to be electrically coupled at one end to the heater assembly (26), and electrically coupled at the other end to the power source (42); and (ii) a second electrical cable assembly (249D) that is configured to be electrically coupled at one end to the heater assembly (26), and electrically coupled at the other end to the flame generator (24). The first electrical cable assembly (249C) includes an AC power cord. The second electrical cable assembly (249D) includes a low voltage DC cable.
