A filtration media with improved filtration, strength, tear resistance and air permeability in the form of a relatively thin and lightweight wet-laid fibrous web that has a wet Mullen ratio of 60% to 80% to ensure that the media is flexible enough to be formed into a fluted structure, and strong enough to retain the fluted structure when wound into a roll and to permit further processing without the media becoming too brittle. The filtration media comprises a blend of cellulose and synthetic fibers having a weight percent of 81 wt % to 87 wt % of a weight of the media and a resin binder having a weight of 13 wt % to 19 wt % (preferably about 16 wt %) of the weight of the media.

POLYLACTIC ACID-FIBERS BASED NON-WOVEN, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF AND ITS USE FOR MAKING COFFEE AND/OR CAPSULES IN PERCOLATING APPARATUS
A non-woven fabric comprising bicomponent fibers. The non-woven fabric has a core containing polylactic acid (PLA-1), coated with an envelope containing polylactic acid (PLA-2). The fibers are characterised in that PLA-1 is a copolymer of lactic acid monomers L1 and lactic acid monomers D1, and PLA-2 is a copolymer of lactic acid monomers L2 and lactic acid D2, whose D2 monomers rate is greater than the monomers rate D1 of PLA-1. The core further contains a polymeric plasticizer. The non-woven fabric may be used for making coffee filters and/or capsules via a thermoforming process for use in a percolating apparatus.

FILTER SHEET MEDIA AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FILTER SHEET MEDIA
A filter sheet media (1) for air/gas filtering applications fulfilling the criteria of standard EN779:2012 class M6 filter media, the filter sheet media (1) comprises: a first group of glass fibers (20) having a fiber diameter in a range of greater or equal to 6 μm up to 20 μm: a second group of glass fibers (30) having a fiber diameter in a range of 0.2 μm to less than 6 μm; a binder (40); the second group of glass fibers (30) have a fiber distribution gradient over the thickness (13) of the filter sheet media (1) so that the second group of glass fibers (30) are distributed through the thickness (13) of the filter sheet media (1), the filter sheet media (1) having more second group of glass fibers (30) near the first surface (11) than the second surface (12). Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing.
