Abstract

Rhizobium bacteria by liquid culture using a medium containing a disaccharide (for example, maltose, trehalose, lactose, sucrose) accounting for at least 25 mass % of the carbon source in the medium while maintaining a pH of 5.0 to 7.0 in the culture solution throughout the course of the culture, namely from the beginning of the culturing to the end of the culturing of said bacteria.

Abstract

Rhizobium bacteria and more than 10 mass % moisture is lyophilized to bring the moisture content to 10 mass %, and the drying is ended before the moisture content becomes less than 5 mass % so that the composition after the lyophilization contains the viable bacteria and 5 to 10 mass % of moisture.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide a culturing method or the like by which the viscosity of a culture solution during liquid-culturing of and at the end of culturing of genus Rhizobium bacteria can be maintained to be low, and then viable microbial cells are easily and efficiently concentrated and separated. [Solution] Said problem is solved by: using a medium in which disaccharides (for example, maltose, trehalose, lactose, sucrose, etc.) constitute 25 mass% or more of a carbon source in the medium; maintaining the pH of a culture solution to be in a range of 5.0-7.0 from the beginning of the culturing to the end of the culturing; and then liquid-culturing genus Rhizobium bacteria.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide a method for producing a genus Rhizobium live bacteria lyophilized composition having high live bacterial viability, and a genus Rhizobium live bacteria lyophilized composition having excellent survivability after long-term preservation. [Solution] According to the present invention, a composition containing genus Rhizobium live bacteria and moisture having a content greater than 10 mass% is lyophilized until the moisture content becomes 10 mass%, then said lyophilization is stopped before the moisture content becomes less than 5 mass%, and resultantly, a lyophilized composition containing the live bacteria and 5-10 mass% of moisture is prepared. Accordingly, a genus Rhizobium live bacteria lyophilized composition can be obtained which has high live bacterial viability and excellent survivability after long-term preservation.

Abstract

In conventional types of antimicrobial, antiviral and/or algae-proofing materials wherein active ingredients are fixed to a solid material, there have been some types in which active ingredients are kneaded into an ordinary plastic (organic polymer). However, this approach has a disadvantage that active ingredients in superficial areas are easily eliminated, while the active ingredients embedded inside thereof fail to sufficiently act. The present invention pertains to an antimicrobial, antiviral and/or algae-proofing material which is obtained by fixing an active ingredient which is silver or copper metal or a compound thereof on an inorganic-organic hybrid compound in which an inorganic oxide or a derivative thereof is chemically bound to an organic polymer having a hydroxyl group. This hybrid compound possesses both water-resisting and water-absorbing properties, and the active ingredient that is stably fixed thereon is in the form of a fine and highly active particle such as nanosized particle. Thus, it is possible to obtain a highly effective antimicrobial, antiviral and/or algae-proofing material that does not result in unnecessary elimination or release of the active ingredient, and that also enables full use of the total amount of the fixed active ingredient.
