An antiperspirant active powder includes a double-activated aluminum salt and a buffering agent of an amino acid, betaine, urea, or a mixture thereof. An HPLC peak 4 is at least 20% and an HPLC peak 5 is at least 10%, and an aluminum to chlorine (Al/Cl) molar ratio ranges from 0.9:1 to 1.8:1.

Abstract
An antiperspirant active composition of high efficacy includes aluminum dichlorohydrate (ADCH), a buffering agent, and a calcium salt. The buffering agent may be an amino acid, such as glycine. The composition has an aluminum to chloride (Al:Cl) molar ratio ranging from 0.91 to 1.25 and a size exclusion chromatography HPLC peak 4 of at least 30% and peak 5 of at least 10%.

Abstract
Activated aluminum sesquichlorohydrate (AASCH) powders prepared by (a) diluting the concentrated aluminum sesquichlorohydrate (ASCH) solution to from about 10% to about 25% by weight, (b) heating the diluted solution to obtain a Band III polymer concentration of at least about 20% and a Band IV polymer concentration of at least about 15%, (c) drying the heated solution to powders, and (d) optionally screen or light mill the powders to free flowing spherical particles are disclosed.
