Abstract

A method for handling plate-carrying sleeves for flexo printing, comprising the steps of providing a predetermined number of plate-carrying sleeves (5), providing a predetermined number of flexo printing plates (6), providing graphical representations (13,14) of each of said flexo printing plates (6), each of which comprising respective printing areas (15), detecting the geometric and dimensional parameters of each of said plate-carrying sleeves (5), determining, on the surface of each of said plate-carrying sleeves (5), a plurality of first surface areas (16) within given dimensional tolerances and of second surface areas (17) not within said dimensional tolerances, said distinct first and second areas (16,17) being identified on a respective plane development (18,19) of said sleeve (5), virtually overlapping each of said graphical representations (13,14) of said flexo printing plates (6) and of each of said plane developments (18,19) of said sleeve (5), so as to obtain a given number of combinations, for each of said combinations, comparing said printing areas (15) of said graphical representation (13,14) with the different surface areas (16,17) of said plane development (18,19), for each of said flexo printing plates (6), selecting the combination plate (6) sleeve (5) with the minimum overlapping between said second surface areas (17) and said printing areas (15).

Abstract

An assembly (1) for detecting geometric parameters of supports (2) for printing plates (A), the supports (2) being constituted by a substantially cylindrical body (3) surmounted by at least one additional layer generally constituted by double adhesive tape (4).
