Abstract

A quick connector arranged to display a scannable image that verifies that engaging components of a quick connector have made a connection. A connector body includes an internal passage centrally located in the connector body adapted so that a pipe can be inserted into the passage. A latch member is located on the connector body that is movable from a pipe insertion position that facilitates the insertion of the pipe into the connector body internal passage, to a latch position that captures and retains the pipe to the connector body. A scannable image inscribed on the latch member is hidden and unreadable in the insertion position. Moving the latch member to the latching position captures the pipe and uncovers the scannable image which can read by a machine scanner to verify the connection.

Abstract

A temperature measuring device for measuring the temperature of a fluid in a pipeline includes a clamping body having a probe receptacle extending from a first body portion of the clamping body. A temperature measuring probe is installed in the probe receptacle with a sensor capsule located in a protrusion extending from the first body portion. A second body portion of the clamping body is rotatably mounted to the first body portion. The first body portion is installed on a wall section of the pipeline after the wall section has been heated. The second body portion is then rotated to engage the first body portion and drive the protrusion to contact the heated wall section and cause the wall section to dilate and locate the dilated wall and the protrusion in the pipeline passage where the sensor capsule measures the temperature of the dilated wall.

A modular retention clip for retaining elongated articles to a structure includes a clamping body having first and second body portions of a first rigid material positionable between an open position and an engaged position. Abstract

An assembly and process for draining fluid leaks from a pump housing is disclosed. The pump housing includes an internal mounting cavity, a valve installed in the mounting cavity and at least one housing passage extending to an exterior surface of the pump housing. A valve passage is formed through a wall of the valve. An interior fluid seal is installed on an interior surface of the valve forming a seal between the valve interior surface and a first surface of the mounting cavity. An exterior fluid seal is installed on an exterior surface of the valve that forms a seal between the valve exterior surface and a second surface of the mounting cavity. An inner leak path is created through the interior fluid seal to the valve passage. The valve passage collects fluid leaking in the inner leak path. An outer leak path is created through the exterior fluid seal. The outer leak path in fluid communication with the valve passage and with the housing passage. Fluid leaking in the exterior fluid seal and fluid contained in the valve passage is drained through the housing passage to the exterior of the pump housing.

Abstract

A vehicle seal includes a body with a support wall formed from a stiff polymer and having a hollow cavity closed by the support wall. At least one web has first and second ends merging with the support wall and extending across the cavity to increase rigidity. The web can be an elastomeric material that is different than the polymer material of the support wall to allow some shear of the body and improve bendability. At least one flexible seal lip is received on and extends outwardly from the body and selectively engages an associated window. The body can have no metal therein. An elastomer can be received over at least part of the body and be a different than the body polymer. The body may include plural webs thereby subdividing the cavity into plural hollow cavity portions. A method of making such a vehicle seal is disclosed.

A quick connector includes a coupler fluidically connected by a passage to a first fluid tube. A retainer housing in axial alignment with the passage is installed on the coupler and a movable retainer is installed in the retainer housing in a first position. A second fluid tube having a raised bead formed proximate an end portion of the second fluid tube is permitted to be installed into the retainer housing cavity by the retainer when the retainer is in the first position. Moving the retainer to a second position latches the bead to the retainer housing retaining the second fluid tube to the quick connector.

A quick connector assembly coupling a fluid tube to a receptacle body includes a socket portion and a wall bordering a socket opening. A pair of latch openings extend through the wall into the socket opening. A bracket installed on the wall includes a pair of spring latches that reach through a respective one of the pair of latch openings into the socket opening.
