Abstract

The subject invention provides a coolant cross-over (38) for circulating an engine coolant between a first engine component, e.g., a first cylinder head (28), and a second engine component, e.g., a second cylinder head (30). The coolant cross-over (38) defines a first outlet (42) in fluid communication with the first engine component, a second outlet (44) in fluid communication with second engine component, and further defines a passage (46) interconnecting the first outlet (42) and the second outlet (44). The coolant cross-over (38) comprises a polymer. A sleeve (56) comprises polyaromatic sulfide and is disposed within the passage (46) for separating the engine coolant from the nylon which forms the coolant cross-over (38) to prevent physical, thermal and/or chemical degradation of the polymeric coolant cross-over (38) by the engine coolant.
