Abstract
This rotational drive device (10A) is provided with: a rotational body (16); a housing (12) having an installation hole (14) formed therein; a fluid supply part (18); a movement restriction part (24); and an output shaft (22). A gap (S) through which a working fluid flows is formed between the outer circumferential surface of the rotational body (16) and the inner circumferential surface of the installation hole (14). As a result of the action of the working fluid, the rotational body (16) is brought into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the installation hole (14) in a state in which the axial line (Ax) of the rotational body (16) is slanted with respect to the centre line (L) of the installation hole (14). The flow path cross-sectional area of the gap (S) expands so as to be greater than one end of the rotational body (16) at the downstream side.

Abstract
A rotary drive apparatus includes a housing having a housing hole defined therein, a cylindrical rotor being disposed in the housing hole, a working fluid passage through which a working fluid for applying a fluid pressure to one end face of the rotor flows, a motion limiting unit configured to limit motion of the rotor toward another end thereof, and an output shaft configured to extract rotary power of the rotor out of the rotary drive apparatus. A predetermined gap for the working fluid to flow therethrough is created between an outer circumferential surface of the rotor and a wall surface defining the housing hole.

Abstract
This rotary drive device (10A) is equipped with: a housing (12) in which an installation hole (30) for installing a cylindrical rotating body (16) is formed; a working fluid path (28) in which a working fluid for applying fluid pressure to one end surface of the rotating body (16) flows; a movement restriction part (24) that restricts movement of the rotating body (16) toward the other end; and an output shaft (28) for outputting the rotational force of the rotating body (16) to the outside. A prescribed space (S) in which the working fluid circulates is formed between the outer circumferential surface of the rotating body (16) and a side wall (31) forming the installation hole (30).

Abstract
A motor-driven pressure resistance welder (100) comprises upper and lower electrodes (15a, 18a) which sandwich an object (17) to be welded therebetween, first and second movement mechanisms (108, 110) which cause the movement of the upper electrode (15a) in the axis direction, a non-piezoelectric load sensor (21) and a piezoelectric load sensor (31), which detect loads inputted to the object (17) to be welded, and a control unit (56). The first movement mechanism (108) is provided with a ball screw (11) which is rotary-driven by a servo motor (5), and the second movement mechanism (110) to which a piezoelectric element stack (123) is provided is engaged with the ball screw (11). The control unit (56) calculates a detection pressurized load (P) on the basis of a detection value (P1) of the non-piezoelectric load sensor (21) and a detection value (P2) of the piezoelectric load sensor (31), and controls the operation of the servo motor (5) and the piezoelectric element stack (123) so that the detection pressurized load (P) becomes a set welding load (Pb).
