Abstract

A method for dressing a multi-thread grinding worm with a multi-groove dressing roll. The grinding worm has a plurality of parallel worm threads that run around a tool axis. The dressing roll has a number of dressing surfaces which are arranged adjacent to one another along a dressing tool axis and which are tooth-shaped in radial section. For dressing the grinding worm, the dressing roll is brought into engagement with the worm threads. In order to correctly perform the dressing process with a correspondingly non-equal-pitch dressing roll in the case of non-equal-pitch toothing, the dressing roll is inserted several times into adjacent worm threads, centered there, and fed radially until the deepest feed amount is reached, which indicates the correct relative position between the dressing roll and the grinding worm. The same applies to the method for grinding a gear with a non-equal-pitch toothing using a multi-thread grinding worm.

Abstract

Technologies and techniques for controlling a secondary circuit of a heat pump in which a coolant circulates. An air-coolant heat exchanger transfers heat from ambient air to the coolant, which is directed to an electric or electronic component at a first temperature. The coolant absorbs heat from the component and is then conveyed to a coolant-refrigerant heat exchanger at a second temperature. The coolant-refrigerant heat exchanger extracts heat from the coolant and transfers it to a consumer. The coolant, cooled by the coolant-refrigerant heat exchanger, returns to the air-coolant heat exchanger. The first and second temperatures are controlled to maximize heat absorption during heat transfer to the consumer.

Abstract

Technologies and techniques for generating training data for a software agent configured to control a driver assistance function of a motor vehicle. A trajectory is planned for a detected driving situation using the driver assistance function. Longitudinal and/or lateral control for guiding the motor vehicle along the trajectory is also planned, and an actuator system of the vehicle is adjusted to implement the control. A response of the driver to the adjusted actuator system is determined, and a divergence value is calculated based on the difference between the control indicated by the driver's response and the control performed by the driver assistance function. The driving situation is then provided, together with the associated divergence value, as training data for the software agent. This allows the software agent to be trained in a manner that reduces divergence and improves alignment between the driver assistance function and the driver's control preferences.

Abstract

Vehicle-based motorcycle lane-splitting assist system dynamically detects lane-splitting motorcycles using rearward facing radar sensors installed in the vehicle. The system detects moving objects approaching the vehicle from the rear using the radar sensor data. The velocity of a fast-moving object is compared to other detected objects and observed over a number of radar cycles to confirm that the object can be classified as a lane-splitting motorcycle. Once the classification is made, the system causes a visual and/or audible warning, that a motorcycle is lane-splitting and approaching the vehicle, to be issued to the driver of the vehicle.

Abstract

A vehicle-based communication system supports wireless data exchange with a vehicle key using ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio. A control unit of the vehicle transmits a first message to a communication control device, the message indicating a transmission power to be set for a transceiver. The communication control device sets the UHF transmission power based on the message and activates the transceiver to transmit a data packet containing user data to the vehicle key. A low-frequency ping may establish a receive window during which the vehicle key receives the data packet. The vehicle key stores the received data packet, optionally transmits a checksum to confirm proper reception, and may adjust its own UHF transmission power based on the received data. The vehicle may re-transmit the data packet when an incorrect checksum is detected. The system enables flexible, software-based adjustment of UHF transmission power for reliable communication with the vehicle key.

Abstract

Technologies and techniques for detecting and identifying objects within a vehicle interior are disclosed. One or more cameras capture image data of the vehicle interior, which is processed and analyzed using a vision-language model (VLM) to detect and identify objects based on their visual and contextual characteristics. The system associates the identified objects with locations inside the vehicle and generates notifications containing the object details and locations. The detection criteria are dynamically updated based on contextual factors, such as vehicle location, environmental conditions, and user preferences. The system further adjusts future object detection criteria based on feedback received from users, enabling improved detection accuracy. Additionally, the system can identify partially obscured objects using image segmentation and contextual recognition techniques. Notifications are communicated through an interface or connected mobile devices, allowing users to interact with the detected objects and receive real-time updates on their locations.
