The invention relates to a device for impregnating a paper web (1) running through it with a urea resin which is dissolved in water, and to a corresponding method. Paper webs (1) of this type are used, for example, as furniture foil or floor laminate, wherein exclusively melamine resin is used for adhesive bonding with a substrate in known practice. Devices for impregnation have a large number of deflectors and have a great space requirement. The invention therefore has the aim of providing a device for impregnation which can be produced inexpensively and has a smaller space requirement. This is achieved by the fact that the paper web (1) is guided between the application roller (7) and the dryer (3) in a substantially horizontal plane without deflection and without contact (support).
The invention relates to a method for impregnating and drying a continuous paper web (1) by means of a urea resin dissolved in water, and to a corresponding system. Such paper webs (1) are employed for example as furniture foil or floor laminate, wherein in the known art melamine resin is used exclusively for bonding to a substrate. This is relatively expensive. The invention relates to an apparatus for impregnating a web as it passes through. In impregnating apparatuses, the web often tears. In the case of the known apparatuses, in normal operation, it is very difficult for the web to be picked up again, and this results in considerable disruption and thus in production losses. The invention relates to a cross cutter for a paper web. Currently, it is not possible to imprint paper webs continuously with the use of coldset printing inks, and to subsequently cut the web.
