PROCESS FOR OBTAINING TEREPHTHALIC ACID AND RECOVERING SODIUM HYDROXIDE FROM A SODIUM TEREPHTHALATE SOLUTION PRODUCED FROM REUSED POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET)
A process for obtaining terephthalic acid and recovering sodium hydroxide from a sodium terephthalate solution produced from reused PET, which includes the following steps: i) placing a sodium terephthalate solution obtained from a PET hydrolysis process on the anodic side; ii) placing an alcoholic medium on the cathodic side of the electrolytic cell; iii) applying an electric current that circulates through the anodic side and the cathodic side of the electrolytic cell and; iv) recovering terephthalic acid and sodium hydroxide. The method has been designed to not generate the by-products generated in the PET recycling process, and thus have a “green” process. Furthermore, the method described does not require large amounts of water or energy.

PROCESS FOR OBTAINING TEREPHTHALIC ACID AND RECOVERING SODIUM HYDROXIDE FROM A SODIUM TEREPHTHALATE SOLUTION PRODUCED FROM REUSED POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET)
The present invention relates to a process for obtaining terephthalic acid and recovering sodium hydroxide from a sodium terephthalate solution produced from reused PET, the process comprising the following steps: i) placing a sodium terephthalate solution obtained from an anode-side PET hydrolysis process in an electrolytic cell; ii) placing an alcoholic medium on the cathode side of the electrolytic cell; iii) applying an electric current flowing through the anode side and the cathode side of the electrolytic cell; and iv) recovering terephthalic acid and sodium hydroxide. The method has been devised so as not to generate the by-products generated in the PET recycling process, in order to have a "green" process. Moreover, the method described does not require large amounts of water or energy.

The invention relates to a packaging system using a tubular plastic film, which comprises: a base; guide elements fixedly joined to the base; an actuating means pivotably joined to the base; securing means; and means for pulling the tubular plastic film that are operatively joined to the actuating means and to the securing means, wherein the actuating means pivots with respect to the base between an upper limit position and a lower limit position, the actuating means being disposed such that, when moved downwards from the upper limit position to the lower limit position, same moves the securing means from the upper part of the guide elements to the lower part thereof, at the same time that the actuating means moves the means for pulling the tubular plastic film upwards, thereby causing the means for pulling the tubular plastic film to pull the tubular plastic film to the lower limit position of the actuating means. According to the invention, the securing means are disposed such that, when moved downwards with the means for pulling the tubular plastic film, the securing means keep the means for pulling the tubular plastic film pressed to the tubular plastic film. However, when the actuating means returns to the upper limit position, the securing means follow the path of the guide elements, causing the pulling means to release the tubular plastic film and move upwards without pulling the tubular plastic film, and to press the film again when the actuating means reaches the upper limit position.
