Thermal lance for fusion cutting and/or piercing, comprising at least four tubular profiles and more than 17 cavities inside the lance
The invention relates to a thermal lance (1) having adequate flexibility and concentrated effective heating capacity for the fusion cutting and/or piercing of any type of material, for example, for piercing and opening tapping passages in melting furnaces that use plugs made of clay or mixtures of, inter alia, alumina, silica and carbon. The thermal lance comprises at least four tubular profiles, one disposed externally and three disposed internally, and more than seventeen cavities housed inside said lance, wherein at least two of said four tubular profiles have different cross-sections, wherein each tubular profile is disposed in a contiguous manner in relation to the other tubular profiles, and wherein each tubular profile is selected from tubular profiles having a circular, square, triangular, hexagonal, oval, or multi-point star-shaped cross-section. The invention also relates to the use of the thermal lance for the fusion cutting and/or piercing of any type of material.

THERMAL LANCE WITH CONTINUOUS RETENTION OF THE COMPONENTS THEREOF AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The invention relates to a thermal lance made up of an oxidisable inner component and an oxidisable outer tube, which are substantially coextensive, defining one or more longitudinal passages for circulating an oxidising gas that will pass from one intake end to the other ignition end of said thermal lance, when the latter is operational. The inner components of the thermal lance are retained inside the outer tube by a continuous flattening or contraction of the tube along the entire length thereof. The method for manufacturing the thermal lance includes at least: axially inserting inner components into the outer tube; passing the aforementioned assembly through a mechanical device that reduces the cross-section of the outer tube; cutting the ends of said thermal lance; and optionally providing the ends of the thermal lance with a fastening means for attaching the means for supplying the oxidising gas and possibly coupling two or more thermal lances, or coupling starting facilitators at the ignition end. The thermal lance and the method also optionally include a ceramic coating on the outer and/or inner surface of the lance.
