Abstract

The present invention is directed to an apparatus for creating a stockpile of bulk material, comprising a conveyor having a feed end and a distribution end; a stabilizer at the feed end of the conveyor; and a support at the distribution end of the conveyor; wherein the support includes a primary hydraulic cylinder having a base portion connected to the support and an end portion which extends and retracts longitudinally to alter the angle between the conveyor and the ground; and a secondary hydraulic cylinder having one end connected to the support and the other end connected to the primary hydraulic cylinder, where the secondary hydraulic cylinder extends and retracts in a lateral direction, thus pivoting the primary hydraulic cylinder against the support. This design is simpler and less expensive than a conveyor with an undercarriage and makes for a smaller staging area as room for the undercarriage is unnecessary.

Abstract

A telescopic or non-telescopic conveyor system having a feed section operatively associated with the conveyor system for feeding materials to one end of the conveyor system is provided. The conveyor system is pivotably mounted to the feed section to pivot the telescopic conveyor system to pivotably rotate relative to the feed section. In another embodiment, the feed section of the conveyor includes a frame to which is attached one or more movable baffles for moving material which has been collected at the sides of the feed section to permit displacement of the same upon lateral movement of the feed section.

Abstract

This invention provides an improvement relating to an extendable and retractable auxiliary axle suitable for supporting an end section of a telescopic conveyor system having rotatable wheel assemblies. The improvement provides for an axle assembly for a conveyor system where the axle is a transversely extending axle positioned forwardly of the rotatable wheel assemblies on the conveyor system. There is provided an axle frame operatively associated with the axle for mounting the axle relative to the conveyor system. Actuatable systems mounted on the frame are provided for displacing the axle between a first raised position and a second lowered position; also provided are a device for actuating the actuatable system to permit the actuatable system to raise and lower the auxiliary axle as desired.
