Abstract

The wrapping device comprises means (5) for covering the side walls of a load (1) configured to form a first series of ascending turns (2) by means of a plastic film. The covering means (5) are also configured to form a second series of ascending turns (6). A device (4) for positioning a cover is configured to arrange the cover (3) on top of the load (1) to be covered. A control circuit is configured to control the movement of the device (4) for positioning the cover and the means (5) for covering the side walls of the load (1) such that the cover (3) is arranged on top of the load (1) so as to be attached to the load (1) by the second set of ascending turns (6). The control circuit is configured such that the device (4) for positioning the cover is arranged just above the top of the load when the first series of ascending turns (2) reaches the top of the load (1).

Abstract

The method for covering and heat-sealing a cover (3) around a load (1) comprises: - providing the load (1) arranged on a mounting (2); - lining up the cover (3) on the load (1) by pulling it downwards so as to be facing an attachment zone (4); and - heat-sealing the cover (3) with the attachment zone (4). The attachment zone (4) is formed by at least one ring of plastic film under stress around the mounting (2) and/or the load (1) before heat-sealing.

Abstract

A wrapping machine comprises a transfer and accumulation device DTA comprising an accumulator element 20 on which a part of the sleeve is wound, and a mechanism 21 for spacing apart the open end of the sleeve following transfer to the covering station 13. According to the invention, a programmable control device 34 determines the position and/or the inclination angle of the supply axis of the load by synchronizing the control for positioning the transfer device DTA with the data relating to the position of the load CH. This results in positioning of said transfer device in a manner depending on the spatial position of the load to be wrapped.
