Abstract
The invention relates to immunological-based biosensor chip systems, devices, kits and diagnostic methods for detection, quantification and/or monitoring of at least one target compound, specifically, at least one small molecule compound, specifically, cyanotoxins in a sample. The present disclosure relates to a biosensor chip system usable for identifying and/or quantifying and/or monitoring at least one target in a sample. More specifically, the system comprises at least one of: at least one first and at least one second chip devices. It should be noted that the first chip device comprises a first plurality of electrodes connectable to at least one electronic device. It should be further noted that the first plurality of electrodes is configured for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis of the sample. The second chip device comprises a second plurality of electrodes connectable to at least one electronic device. The second plurality of electrodes is configured for electrochemical voltammetry or amperometry analysis of said sample.

Abstract
The present disclosure provides a method for processing coffee waste, the method comprises (i) subjecting an aqueous mixture comprising particulated coffee waste and an aqueous medium to hydrothermal conditions, to obtain a coffee waste slurry including particulates; and (ii) separating at least part of the particulates from said coffee waste slurry, to obtain a coffee waste product; wherein, said hydrothermal conditions comprise a temperature above 170° C.; and a pressure equal or above 1 MPa. Further provided by the present disclosure is a coffee waste product comprising in an aqueous sample volume of 1 liter any one or combination of the following characteristics: total antioxidant capacity from about 6000 and about 8000 mg Fe(II) eq., total phenolic content from about 2000 and about 3000 mg gallic acid (GA) eq., and total furfural compounds content from about 1000 ppm and 2000 ppm. Finally, the presently disclosed subject matter provides a method comprising applying to a plant or a plant soil an amount of disclosed coffee waste product.

Abstract
A label-free optical biosensing system and method provide high sensitivity and specificity for in situ detection and activity estimation of serotypes, such as Botulinum Neurotoxins (BoNT). Pre-fabricated thin-film support structures are treated with a competitive immunoassay coupled to a biochemical cascade reaction, which provides optical signal amplification. When the thin-film support structures receive a target analyte and are exposed to polychromatic light, reaction products cause a change in average refractive index which appears in reflectivity spectra measured by an optical interferometer. Optical signal amplification enables a linear response for serotype concentrations of only a few picograms per millilitre, as well as a level-of-detection threshold of 5.0 picograms per millilitre or less. The specificity and selectivity of the method have been verified in studies using various combinations of different serotypes as a target analyte. Similarly, the serotype activity is estimated by an adjunct sensing platform.
