The present invention relates to a Roman blind. The Roman blind comprises a panel, and one or more battens receiving the panel. One or more retainers are provided for retaining the panel in the battens. A cover covers the panel. The Roman blind also comprises one or more fasteners for fastening the cover to the retainers. Optionally, the cover is customised according to preference from a wide range of covers thereby enabling a pleasing aesthetic. Optionally, the Roman blind further includes a spool upon which control bands are wound, the spool including alignment means for aligning ends of the control bands during assembly of the blind.
A Roman blind includes a panel having a plurality of battens attached thereto. Each of the battens includes a rear slot, with at least one control band extending along a rear surface of the panel. Raising a lower end of the at least one control band causes the blind to be raised and lowering a lower end of the at least one control band causes the blind to be lowered. One or more band guides are mounted in the rear slot of one or more of the battens. The one or more band guides mounted in the rear slot of a batten that is not a lowermost batten is/are mounted for slidable movement within the rear slot so that the one or more band guides float in the rear slot. The position of the band guides is self-adjusting. Manufacturing of the blind is consequently less complex.
A Roman blind comprises a panel having a plurality of battens (18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28) attached thereto, each of the battens (18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28) including a rear slot (110), at least one control band (38, 40) extending along a rear surface of the panel, wherein raising a lower end of the at least one control band (38, 40) causes the blind to be raised and lowering a lower end of the at least one control band (38, 40) causes the blind to be lowered, and one or more band guides (34, 36) being mounted in the rear slot of one or more of the battens, wherein the one or more band guides (here, 40) mounted in the rear slot of a batten that is not a lowermost batten is/are mounted for slidable movement within the rear slot so that the one or more band guides float in the rear slot. The position of the band guides is self adjusting. Manufacturing of the blind is consequently less complex.
A hollow body batten having sidewalls (2) joined by a transverse wall (4) which divides the hollow body into a fabric cavity (6) and a clip cavity (8). Access to the clip cavity (8) is through a clip slot (10) which extends from end to end of the batten. Access to the fabric cavity (6) is through a fabric slot (12) which extends from end to end of the batten.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING IN AND TO A BLIND AND A SPLINE USED IN THE BLIND
A spline for securing a section of material to a batten which has an elongate slot which extends along a side of the batten, the spline has an elongate body which has a first portion which is profiled to be registerable in a secure manner with the slot and a second portion which is attached to the first portion and which is positioned outside and adjacent to the slot when the first portion is engaged with the slot, the second portion has a lower surface which faces the first portion and which has a first end, an opposed second end, and an intermediate portion, and wherein the lower surface is shaped so that at least the first end occupies a plane which is between a plane, in which the intermediate portion lies, and the first portion.
A guide (2) for inserting a fold of fabric into the batten of a Roman blind comprising a leading end (12) and a trailing end (4). A slot (10) runs from trailing end (12) to leading end (4). The slot (10) has a T-section which opens into a countersunk central area (14) towards the leading end (12) and into a bore (6) towards the trailing end (4). The bore (6) is adapted to receive a leading end of the batten (8) and a screw (18) projects from the sidewall into the bore (6) in order to engage the batten (8).
B25B 27/20 - Hand tools or bench devices, specially adapted for fitting together or separating parts or objects whether or not involving some deformation, not otherwise provided for for assembling objects other than by press fit or detaching same inserting or withdrawing split pins or circlips
A head rail for a blind is disclosed. The head rail has a cross-sectional profile which includes a first wall having a proximal end and a distal end, a second wall having a proximal end and a distal end, and a web portion extending between the proximal ends of the first wall and the second wall, wherein a portion of the first wall towards the distal end thereof slopes towards the second wall, and a portion of the second wall towards the distal end thereof slopes towards the first wall, such that the space between the distal ends of the walls is less than the space between the proximal ends of the walls, the cross-sectional profile of the head rail further including one or more unit attachment formations associated with one or both of the walls and being located in, or extending through, the space between the walls, the unit attachment formations being adapted to enable attachment to the head rail of industry standard cord lock units and industry standard chain drive units.
A blind rail to which blind fabric can be attached is disclosed. The rail has a main slot into which an edge portion of the blind fabric can be inserted, and an insert which can be inserted into and securely retained in the main slot with the edge portion to securely attach the blind fabric to the rail. The rail also has an additional slot into which a fold of the blind fabric can be inserted. The way the folded fabric can be secured in the additional slot enables the blind fabric to be attached to the blind rail of the present invention in two different configurations. In one configuration, most of the blind rail remains exposed to give the blind rail a 'naked' aesthetic. In the other configuration, the blind fabric may wrap around most of the blind rail giving the blind rail a covered aesthetic.
