Abstract

A conveyor includes a helical track and a conveyor belt which is drivable along the helical track. The helical track is provided with an inner rail and an outer rail surrounding the inner rail. The conveyor belt is provided with slats that are mounted to a flexible conveyor line, such as a side-bow chain. Each of the slats is provided with a guide roller having an axis of rotation including a vertical component, which guide roller is upwardly, downwardly and radially supported by the inner rail. Each of the slats is upwardly supported by the outer rail and movable in upward direction with respect to the outer rail. The upper contact location between the guide roller and the inner rail where the guide roller is radially supported lies above a line along which a resultant radial force of the conveyor line towards a centerline of the inner rail acts.

Abstract

A conveyor for conveying piece goods or the like through a helical path around a central axis in a vertical direction includes a frame which supports an endless conveyor belt that is movable along the helical path in a conveying direction. The conveyor belt includes carrier plates which are movably connected to each other. The frame includes at least a guide and at least a number of carrier plates comprise at least a guide roller rotatable about an axis of rotation. The guide roller has at least a first guide roller surface which is in contact with the guide in a first contact location, and a second guide roller surface which is in contact with the guide in a second contact location. The first and second contact locations are spaced from each other and the normal to the first guide roller surface in the first contact location deviates from the normal to the second guide roller surface in the second contact location. The invention provides a conveyor with a high driving efficiency as a consequence of low resistance between the carrier plate and the guide.

Abstract

A buffer conveyor comprises a first (7) and a second (8) conveyor, which move at least substantially parallel to each other in helical paths, albeit in opposite directions. A transfer unit (12) is movable parallel to the first and the second conveyor in the aforesaid path with its inlet (HA) and outlet (HB) ends. The transfer unit is provided with at least one separate, drivable transfer element for transferring the products from the first conveyor to the second conveyor, so that the products can be transferred from the inlet end of the first conveyor to the discharge end of the second conveyor via the transfer unit. The transfer unit comprises a drive unit for moving the transfer unit along the paths of the respective conveyors with its ends in dependence on the speeds of the first and the second conveyor. The transfer element of the transfer unit describes an at least substantially horizontal path between the inlet end and the outlet end and extends outside the area defined by the adjacent paths of the first and the second conveyor.

Abstract

A conveyor is provided for conveying and buffering articles (G) and the like along a vertically extending, substantially helical path. A conveying assembly such as a conveyor belt or conveyor rollers is supported by a frame and driven by a drive unit and extends along said helical path and conveys articles along said path. The substantially helical path is divided into zones (Z), each zone being provided with switch members, in such a manner that the conveyor can be switched in each zone between a conveying position, in which the conveying assembly conveys the articles, and a buffering position, in which the articles present in said zone are stationary. Buffering devices distributed over the length of the conveyor and being present in each zone support the articles in the buffering position. The drive unit and/or the conveyor belt/rollers on the one hand and the buffering devices on the other hand are vertically movable with respect to each other in each zone (Z), in such a manner that the articles (G) in question are in contact with the drive unit in the conveying position and with the buffering devices in the buffering position in said zone. In this way a simple and reliable buffering system can be realised.

Abstract

The invention relates to a conveyor for conveying piece goods or the like through a helical path around a central axis in a vertical direction, comprising a frame (1) which supports an endless conveyor belt which is movable along the helical path in a conveying direction. The conveyor belt includes carrier plates (9) which are movably connected to each other. The frame (1) includes at least a guide (14) and at least a number of carrier plates (9) comprise at least a guide roller (11) rotatable about an axis of rotation (12). The guide roller (11) has at least a first guide roller surface (17) which is in contact with the guide (14) in a first contact location (19), and a second guide roller surface (18) which is in contact with the guide (14) in a second contact location (20). The first and second contact locations (19, 20) are spaced from each other and the normal to the first guide roller surface (17) in the first contact location (19) deviates from the normal to the second guide roller surface (18) in the second contact location (20). The invention provides a conveyor with a high driving efficiency as a consequence of low resistance between the carrier plate (9) and the guide (14).

Abstract

A buffer conveyor for conveying and buffering products comprises a first elongated conveyor (7) and a second elongated conveyor (8) that can be driven in an opposite direction. The first and the second conveyor extend in a path at least substantially parallel to each other and beside each other. A transfer unit (11) is movable at least substantially parallel to the first and the second conveyor in the aforesaid path and is provided with a transfer device (17) for transferring the products from the first conveyor to the second conveyor. The transfer unit comprises a drive unit for moving the transfer unit, preferably in dependence on the velocities of the first and the second conveyor. The drive unit of the transfer unit comprises a drive motor (12), which follows the movements of the transfer unit at least in part.

Abstract

A conveyor (1) for conveying and buffering of products (2) is provided with a frame (4), a plurality of supports (6) which are spaced from each other and which are moved with respect to the frame (4) in a conveying direction by driving means, and an obstruction for obstructing of a first product (2) in the conveying direction. The supports (6) can each bear at least one product (2) on a baring surface (9). The frame (4) is provided with a supporting surface (12) , the supports (6) and the supporting surface (12) are arranged such and positioned with respect to each other such, that the product (2) is free from the supporting surface (12) when the product (2) is barred by one of the supports (6) and rests on the supporting surface (12) when the supports (6) are spaced from the product (2) . In one embodiment each support (6) comprises a set of elongated rollers (7) which are freely rotatably fixed to a conveying member (5) to which the supports (6) are attached.

Abstract

A device for buffering products comprises a plurality of accumulating conveyors (1), each having a supplying place (2) for receiving products and a discharging place (3) for discharging products. The device further comprises an adjustable diverter (4) which is connectable to a supplying conveyor (S) for supplying the products in at least one flow. The diverter (4) is connected to a selected one of the supplying places (2) of the accumulating conveyors (1) for conveying the flow of products to the corresponding accumulating conveyor (1). The device further comprises a merging member (5) which is connectable to a discharging conveyor (D) for conveying the products in at least one flow. The merging member (5) is connected to a selected one of the discharging places (3) of the accumulating conveyors (1) for conveying the products from the corresponding accumulating conveyor (1) to the discharging conveyor (D). The accumulating conveyors (1) form at least a helical path, which results in a compact device.
