The invention relates to a packaging system (1), in particular a food packaging system, comprising or consisting of: A) a first paper layer (2) comprising particulate activated carbon, having a front side and a rear side opposite the front side; B) a first barrier layer (4) arranged on the front side and/or rear side of the paper layer (2) or on at least one side of a carrier paper (3), consisting of or comprising a binder and a pigment; and C) a second barrier layer (5) arranged on the first barrier layer (4) and consisting of or comprising an acrylate copolymer and a wax. The invention also relates to the use of a packaging system according to the invention as packaging, and to a method for producing a packaging system according to the invention.
