Abstract

Muzzle device mounting system comprising an adapter and a firearm accessory. The adapter may include a channel that extends along an exterior of the adapter in a helical pattern configured to advance the adapter into a complementary component based on a rotation of the adapter, the complementary component, or both. Based on the advancement of the adapter into the complementary component, a sidewall of the channel may be forced against a sidewall of a ridge of the complementary component. The channel may lock with the ridge based on a rotation of the adapter, a rotation of the complementary component, or a combined rotation of the adapter and the complementary component that is less than 180 degrees.

Abstract

A firearm accessory may include an elongate body having an end that is positioned adjacent to a firing end of a barrel of a firearm. The firearm accessory may also include a piston assembly that is located at least partially within the elongate body. A first end of the piston assembly may be configured to be secured to the barrel of the firearm. The piston assembly may also include an indexing ring positioned at a second end of the piston assembly. The elongate body and the piston assembly may be rotatable relative to one another about a longitudinal axis that extends from the first end of the piston assembly to the second end of the piston assembly. The firearm accessory may also include an orientation assembly that includes a pawl and a selector component for selectively disengaging the pawl with the indexing ring of the piston assembly.

Abstract

A sealing member configured to fill the gap between a charging handle and a lower receiver. The sealing member may be disposed in a charging handle that forms a seal against the receiver to prevent the escape of discharge gas from the interface between the charging handle and the receiver. The sealing member may be disposed on the top surface of the lower receiver at the charging handle-lower receiver interface.

Abstract

A composite charging handle having a charging handle shaft which has one or more durable metal pieces that are overmolded with a durable polymer, the polymer comprising the exterior surface that will contact the rest of the firearm, and charging handles which are comprised of two pieces, with the portion that interfaces with the charging handle body being made from a durable metal and the portion that the user touches being made of a polymer or other durable material such as aluminum or steel, in a separate operation, whereby the two pieces are then mechanically attached to prevent easy separation in use, yet facilitate interchangeability in the future

Abstract

Serialized firearm parts, such as silencers, are identified using plates permanently affixed to the parts by welding, brazing, riveting, pinning and welding or other permanent techniques. Methods of effecting repair or replacement of silencers and silencer parts employ removing the plates by drilling or machining the welds and permanently affixing the plate to a replacement part.

Abstract

A suppressed pistol has a breech block and a slide mounted on a frame. The breech block and slide are separate pieces, movable relatively to one another and the frame. A link extends between the breech block and the frame. The link carries a cam and a cam follower. The cam follower on the link engages a cam on the frame, the cam on the link engages a cam follower on the slide. Action between the cams, cam followers and the link causes separation between the breech block and the slide during operation of the pistol. The suppressor includes a container having baffle plates with truncated cones defining openings offset from the geometric centers of the baffle plates.

Abstract

A suppressor for a firearm is provided, wherein the suppressor can be selectively oriented relative to the firearm. The suppressor has an elongate body, a piston assembly and a cam assembly. A piston of the piston assembly can be fixedly attached to the barrel of a firearm. An indexing ring is radially fixed relative to the piston. The cam lever is selectively movable between a second position, in which the indexing ring is fixed relative to the elongate body, and a first position, in which the indexing ring can rotate relative to the elongate body.
