Abstract

A framing system for fabric signs includes a tension clip and a mandrel, which may both be used in either of two opposite orientations for securing a fabric panel to a channel frame. The tension clip has at least one leg extending away from a frame-engaging portion, the leg defining at least a portion of a longitudinal fabric-receiving channel. The frame-engaging portion has a tooth for engaging a surface of a frame channel. The mandrel is insertable into the fabric-receiving channel with an edge portion of the fabric sign wrapped around the mandrel. The mandrel has an outboard rib at each end and a pair of medial ribs inboard of the outboard ribs, so that the mandrel defines outboard recesses and a medial recess along at least one of the mandrel's sides. The recesses receive respective fabric-engaging projections that extend into the fabric-receiving channel from the leg.

Abstract

A channel letter has a rear surface for mounting against a raceway, wall, or a structure for supporting the signage, and sheet metal sides defining the figuration of the letter or shape to be depicted. A lighting element is positioned against the rear surface of the enclosure, and a lens is retained to the open front of the enclosure. The lens is retained by a plurality of retainer clips. Each of the retainer clips has a first and a second side extending from an arched back with the sides spaced a distance sufficient for the sides to fit around the end of the walls.

Abstract

An outdoor sign assembly includes a perimeter framework with fluid-directing channels to direct water off of the sign during inclement weather, and further includes individually removable sign face panels that are configured to support individual indicia members including lettering, numbers, symbols, designs, or the like, including internally-lighted indicia. The sign face panels cooperate with the framework to direct water around and off of the sign assembly, and may be placed in side-by-side arrangement to achieve any desired length. During assembly or disassembly, the sign face panels are held relatively securely to the framework, even before mechanical fasteners are fully tightened.

Abstract

A sign assembly includes a substantially rigid framework such as a rectangular or other shaped frame, and a flexible display sheet, typically of cloth or fabric material. The display sheet wraps around an outer portion of the framework and enters a channel, where it is retained at a flexible retainer element disposed in the channel. Optionally, the flexible retainer element may be a strip of resilient sheet material defining one or more slit or slot patterns and/or openings that are configured to releasably engage portions of the display sheet. A cover element may be used to cover the channel and to present a finished appearance along the outside portion of the framework.
