Abstract

Method for detecting whether an examined model has been trained using unauthorized training data, comprising: training an OOD detector using the authorized training data; extracting multiple prototypes from the examined model by: (i) providing random input data as an input of the examined model, (ii) through multiple iterations, gradually perturbing the random input data to bring an entropy of an output of the examined model to an entropy below a predefined entropy threshold, (iii) setting the perturbed random input data as one of the prototypes, and (iv) iteratively repeating the steps (i) to (iii); using each of the extracted multiple prototypes as input for the trained OOD detector to calculate a dissimilarity metric for each of the extracted multiple prototypes; and based on the dissimilarity metric, determining whether the examined model has been trained using unauthorized training data.

Abstract

The present invention relates to methods for sampling marked pressurized liquified hydrocarbon products (PLHPs). The methods comprise the steps of collecting in a first gas cylinder the PLHP comprising at least one marker; transferring at least a part of said PLHP into a second gas cylinder; transferring the mixture of the PLHP, the at least one marker and the solvent into a receiving container and allowing the PLHP to evaporate. Subsequently, the PLHP may be authenticated by a further step of determining the analyzable atom and/or analyzable functional group concentration of the at least one marker with an analytical technique. Subsequently to the authentication, the PLHP may be assessed in terms of quantifying its adulteration by a further step of calculating the concentration of the at least one marker in the PLHP and comparing the calculated concentration with a predetermined concentration of the at least one marker in the PLHP.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for marking a hydrocarbon product (HP) by using at least two markers, wherein the at least two markers have at least one same atom and/or functional group and the markers have different boiling points and/or different distillation profiles The markers are selected in such a way that the entire range of the distillation temperature T(BpL) and T(BpE) of the HP is covered. An atom portion originating from individual markers M1 and M2 in a marker mixture Mx is determined by performing a regression analysis for at least part of the distillation temperature range of the HP. Based on said analysis a marker mixture Mx is calculated and added to mark a HP. The invention also relates to a fuel marked by the method and methods for detecting adulteration in HP.

Abstract

The invention relates to a security marking printed via intaglio process, corresponding engraved intaglio printing plate, and methods and devices for producing, encoding/decoding and authenticating said security marking. The security marking comprising multitone 2D intaglio patterns of intaglio modules containing encoded data according to specific encoding symbols, the decoding of which, together with measured tone values for tiny shifts around their positions at decoding stage on a digital image of said intaglio patterns in correlation with said symbols, provides a robust and precise estimation of a register error between modules of distinct tones, thus allowing to easily detect any fake marking obtained via offset printing, even with a smartphone.

Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of inkjet printing technology. The cartridges, whose ink reservoir is in communication with the external environment through a venting hole, are subject to ink leakage when the external pressure changes significantly with respect to the external pressure after ink filling, in particular due to possible air bubbles trapped in the in the ink reservoir. The present invention provides a cartridge lid (15) with an expansion space (25) formed between an outer lid member (40) and an inner lid member (27). The expansion space (25) is in communication with external environment through the venting hole (17) and has an inlet (26) through which ink is able to flow into the expansion space (25). The present invention also provides a cartridge, an ink jet print head and an inkjet printer.

Abstract

The present invention provides a process for manufacturing a security feature for securing a value document, wherein said security feature exhibits a blue color upon viewing in transmitted light and a metallic yellow color upon viewing in incident light. The manufacturing process comprises the following steps: a) printing a specific UV-Vis radiation curable ink on a transparent or partially transparent region of a substrate of a value document; b) heating the ink layer obtained at step a) at a temperature of about 55 °C to about 100 °C for at least one second so that the ink layer exhibits a metallic yellow color upon viewing in incident light; and c) UV-Vis curing the ink layer obtained at step b) to form the security feature. The manufacturing process according to the present invention enables the expedient production of security features exhibiting a blue color upon viewing in transmitted light and a metallic yellow color upon viewing in incident light and is particularly useful for industrial printing of value documents.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for detecting and decoding a two- dimensional encoded pattern, e.g. of the Robust Encoding Pattern type (REP), even in case the pattern is applied on a non-uniform colored background of a surface of a substrate. The operations for decoding such an encoded pattern involve detecting the states of its symbols through a test pattern, checking that local differences between parameter values of the elements of the symbols are consistent with an allowed representation of the test pattern to assign via a one-to-one mapping the states of the symbols of the test pattern to the corresponding symbols of the encoded pattern, and decoding the encoded pattern based on the assigned representation of its symbols.

Abstract

The invention protects a content of a digital or physical document against forgery. It allows automatic detection of any modification in an arrangement of graphical symbols (e.g. a text) provided on a support (e.g. printed or displayed) with respect to an original arrangement by providing on the support reproducible verifiable data including a verification barcode, while eliminating redundancy between data inside the barcode and the graphical symbols, and resolving the problem of the size of the barcode when the size of the data for these graphical symbols is large.

Abstract

The disclosed scanner for detecting a decay time of light emitted by a luminescent material has a control unit operable to adapt the drive current, or the value of the drive voltage, powering its light source to accordingly adapt the intensity of excitation light delivered to the luminescent material so that its high sensitivity light sensor can reliably measure the luminescence light emitted in response to the excitation light, and thus accurately determine a corresponding decay time value.
