Abstract

The present invention provides a process for manufacturing a security feature for securing a value document, wherein said security feature exhibits a blue color upon viewing in transmitted light and a metallic yellow color upon viewing in Incident light. The manufacturing process comprises the following steps: a) printing a specific UV-Vis radiation curable ink on a transparent or partially transparent region of a substrate of a value document; b) heating the ink layer obtained at step a) at a temperature of about 55° C. to about 100° C. for at least one second so that the ink layer exhibits a metallic yellow color upon viewing in incident light; and c) UV-Vis curing the ink layer obtained at step b) to form the security feature. The manufacturing process according to the present invention enables the expedient production of security features exhibiting a blue color upon viewing in transmitted light and a metallic yellow color upon viewing in incident light and is particularly useful for industrial printing of value documents.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for detecting and decoding a two-dimensional encoded pattern, e.g. of the Robust Encoding Pattern type (REP), even in case the pattern is applied on a non-uniform colored background of a surface of a substrate. The operations for decoding such an encoded pattern involve detecting the states of its symbols through a test pattern, checking that local differences between parameter values of the elements of the symbols are consistent with an allowed representation of the test pattern to assign via a one-to-one mapping the states of the symbols of the test pattern to the corresponding symbols of the encoded pattern, and decoding the encoded pattern based on the assigned representation of its symbols.

Abstract

The invention protects a content of a digital or physical document against forgery. It allows automatic detection of any modification in an arrangement of graphical symbols (e.g. a text) provided on a support (e.g. printed or displayed) with respect to an original arrangement by providing on the support reproducible verifiable data including a verification barcode, while eliminating redundancy between data inside the barcode and the graphical symbols, and resolving the problem of the size of the barcode when the size of the data for these graphical symbols is large.

Abstract

The disclosed scanner for detecting a decay time of light emitted by a luminescent material has a control unit operable to adapt the drive current, or the value of the drive voltage, powering its light source to accordingly adapt the intensity of excitation light delivered to the luminescent material so that its high sensitivity light sensor can reliably measure the luminescence light emitted in response to the excitation light, and thus accurately determine a corresponding decay time value.

Abstract

Method and system of controlling by a control authority (2) emission or destruction of digital assets from a request received by an accredited ledger (8), so that the control authority can access to the ledger (8) for reading data stored therein. The request may relate to transfer registration of digital asset towards an account or between two accounts. Requests include stamp time and store and updated balance. In particular, the ledger (8) registers the transfer according to the received request by updating balances only in case the updated digital account balance of the account to be debited is positive.

Abstract

Device and method of reading a mark printed on containers moving along a conveyor, wherein the mark is printed on a lateral portion of the container. The device comprises a drive unit for applying torque on a container in a reading area to generate rotation along its vertical axis, and a camera for reading the mark while the container is spinning. The drive unit comprises a motor and a spinner disposed at a first zone of the reading area for applying torque on a lateral wall of the container. The device comprises a pushing assembly, e.g. an air knife applying high-pressure air flow that drives the container towards the first zone to ensure rotational movement of the container. Abstract

A system (100) for controlling a plurality of lines (10), with each line (10) being at least one of a production line and a distribution line, comprises: a first subsystem (30), hereinafter referred to as “master room subsystem”, comprising a first control device (40) hosting an OPC UA server (45); and, for each line (10), a second subsystem (50), hereinafter referred to as “line control subsystem”, comprising: (a) a second control device (60) on which an operating system is running, the second control device (60) hosting an OPC UA client (65); (b) at least one field device (70); and (c) a connection device (80) arranged for allowing communication between the field device(s) (70) and the second control device (60). The field device(s) (70) is connected to the second control device (60) through a point-to-point digital communication interface, the second control device (60) having one port per field device (70).

Abstract

The invention relates to the field of the protection of security documents such as for example banknotes and identity documents against counterfeit and illegal reproduction. In particular, the present invention provides processes for magnetically transferring one or more indicia into a not yet hardened coating layer made of a coating composition comprising platelet-shaped magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles so as to produce optical effect layers (OELs) as anti-counterfeit means on security documents or security articles or for decorative purposes.
