Abstract
The present invention relates to a double-trolley container crane capable of lifting dual 40-foot containers. The crane is equipped with two trolleys, the front trolley is mounted on the upper track of a crane girder and runs on the upper track, the rear trolley is mounted on the lower track of the cross beam of a gate frame and runs on the lower track. A transfer platform for container positioning is set under the crossbeam of the gate frame. By running on the corresponding tracks, the front trolley can lift two 40-foot containers onto the transfer platform, and then the rear trolley can lift and transfer the containers on the transfer platform onto the ground transportation truck one-by-one, and vice versa. The front trolley can lift two 40-foot containers side-by-side one time. Since the rear trolley can start to lift the containers at very low height and can move very short distance, so it successfully resolves the problem about the positioning and swaying of the containers during the operation between the crane and the ground transportation truck. The present invention greatly raises the speed and efficiency of loading-unloading during the operation between the cargo ship and the ground transportation truck. It could be adapted to be used both in automated dock and in normal dock.
