A beam seating assembly for supporting chairs has a frame supporting a seating surface. A beam secures to a first support and extends in a longitudinal direction. A channel is located on the beam free of the first support. The frame has a lower portion with a connector that is insertable into the channel transverse to the longitudinal direction and the connector, once inserted into the channel, is retained from removal out of the channel in a direction. A rear face of the beam faces the first support and the beam protrudes outwards with respect to the first support wherein a distance between the rear face and the first support is less than 50% a maximum amount which the beam protrudes with respect to the rear face, thereby allowing for mounting chairs by taking up less space from a riser.
A flat plate based system for securing legs to a chair is provided wherien a chair support has two catches and two leg pieces each have a tab at one end, the tab configured to interact with one of the two catches, each leg piece including an opening through which a tension member passes. Anchor pieces are configured to secure to the tension member such that the tension member pulls the anchor pieces together. The leg pieces each have an edge such that the edges face each other and the tabs interact with the catches and the tension member is positioned in the opening and the anchor pieces and tension member pull the edges together to hold the tabs against the two catches.
An improved seating hinge includes a pin having a race member at a distal end and a shaft at a proximal end, and a bracket having a socket, wherein the pin is inserted into the bracket so that the race member is in contact with the socket, the shaft protrudes from the socket, and the pin is rotatable within the socket. The seating hinge further includes a telescoping connection that allows for varying seat widths and placements. Adjustment and/or alignment of the seat bottom can be performed without requiring support leg to be moved or replaced. The hinge can accommodate an auditorium having both straight sections of seating and curved sections of seating with varying degrees of curvature, where some support legs are mounted parallel and others non-parallel relative to each other. The hinge design can withstand weather and elements such as those present in many outdoor locations.
A tablet assembly including a tablet movable between a generally vertical stored position and a generally horizontal in-use position, and a swivel joint operable between the tablet and a mount, the swivel joint comprising an elbow, a first plate, and a second plate, wherein the first plate is rotateably attached to a first surface of the elbow and the second plate is rotateably attached to a second surface of the elbow, and wherein the first plate is fixedly attached to the mount and the second plate is fixedly attached to the tablet.
A seating system adapted for use in stadium, auditorium, and/or theater-type settings. The system utilizes seat back pins, support beams, and anchors for installing seat backs in series and without requiring custom components to account for variability in dimensions. A method for installing seat backs provides the installer with multiple degrees of freedom when adjusting the position of a seat back being installed, including lateral positioning and rotational orientation.
A seat connection mechanism and a seat employing that mechanism where the mechanism is constructed from a combination of metal, for example extruded or cast, plastic bushings and plastic covers to create a fully enclosed tilt mechanism for seats which is reliable, easy to maintain and allows for easy removal of seats for repair thereof so long as the person removing the seat knows the removal process. Thus vandalism is inhibited and a relatively economical bracket and seat is provided with substantial durability and reliability.
