Abstract

Methods are for storing electricity and producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) or synthetic natural (SNG) and using carbon dioxide and for producing electricity, natural gas (NG) or SNG. The methods involve, starting from a water flow, producing an oxygen gas flow and a hydrogen gas flow by electrolysis in an electrolytic cell. A first hydrogen gas flow portion and a second hydrogen gas flow portion are obtained. The first hydrogen gas flow portion is allocated to a methanation step in the presence of carbon dioxide gas. A condensed recirculation water vapor flow is obtained to be allocated to the methanation step and performing methanation. The second hydrogen gas flow portion is allocated to a cooling and liquefaction step. A liquid hydrogen flow is obtained, which is stored in a liquid hydrogen tank.

Abstract

A method approximates and connects an off shore riser duct to a floating unit, includes installing a tubular coupling recipient on the floating unit at a riser coupling level, the coupling recipient having an annular side wall extending around a longitudinal axis. A pulling device is on the floating unit at a pulling device level above the riser coupling level. The pulling device pulls a line extended through the coupling recipient and connected to a pulling head at a riser duct upper end. The riser duct upper end is pulled into the coupling recipient, providing a locking mechanism to lock a coupling adapter against downward withdrawal. Extending the line along a curved deviating surface deviates the pulling direction. The curved deviating surface is formed by a deviating member connected to the coupling recipient at a distance from the longitudinal axis smaller than an annular side wall to longitudinal axis distance.

Abstract

A method for stripping CO2 from a biocatalyst-containing CO2-rich absorption solution to produce a biocatalyst-containing CO2-lean absorption solution and a CO2-rich gas is provided. The method includes generating a stripping gas from a portion of the biocatalyst-containing CO2-lean absorption solution in a stripping gas generation unit, and contacting the biocatalyst-containing CO2-rich absorption solution with the stripping gas in a gas-liquid contactor to produce the CO2-lean absorption solution and the CO2-rich gas.

A first metal pipe is welded to a second metal pipe in a method of laying pipeline, for example from a pipe-laying vessel at sea.
