Abstract

Capsule for the electronic identification of ruminants, designed to be orally administered and retained in the second stomach of the animal, said capsule being constituted by a body preferably of ceramic material and provided with a cavity which contains a data exchange device, where the specific gravity of the capsule is between 3 and 4 and the volume of the capsule is between 5 and 7 ml, if the capsule should be administered to sheep, and between 15 and 25 ml if it applies to cattle. A capsule of this type can be administered at very early ages, even at the time of birth.

Abstract

Ear tag for identifying animals, which consists of two parts comprising a male element, with a protrusion designed to pass, in the tag's operative position, through the cartilage of an animal's ear, and a female element (2), mutually couplable, leaving the tag suspended with room for manoeuvre, in the operative position, from the animal's ear by the protrusion of the male element, with one of the elements male or female having an electronic identification device encapsulated and lodged in a corresponding oblong receptacle (4), solidly joined to the male or female part in which said device is fitted, forming a sharp angle of between 10° and 45° in relation to the horizontal plane, in the abovementioned operative position of the tag.

Abstract

Ear tag for identifying animals, which includes two separate components consisting of a male component (2) , having a headed stem (3) preceded by a peripheral step (5), and a female component (6) comprising an identification plate joined to a receptacle (7), adapted to house the head (3) of the male component (2), and a retaining means (13) to secure the head inside the receptacle (7), which comprises at least two retaining clips (10a, 10b, 100a, 100b, 100c) that are elastically deformable on the plane of the opening and which transversally cross the rim, between them defining an aperture for the head of the male component which widens as said head is inserted into the receptacle, due to the elastic deformation of the clips, and narrows once said head has fully inserted into the receptacle, the head remaining irreversibly retained inside the female component as the step comes into contact with the clips.

Abstract

Device designed for the administration of a ruminant bolus to an animal, which comprises a hollow tubular body, on one of the ends whereof a movable shank is introduced that is adapted to propel the bolus, which has been previously introduced, in manual form, into the tubular body through the snout at the opposite end thereof, and eject it outward, with the tubular body comprising two essentially straight sections, one internal and the other external, the internal section being a short section, designed to lean against the corner of the animal's mouth, whilst the external section is long, and its free, external end is designed to reach the area of the animal's pharynx when the hollow tubular body is introduced into the animal's mouth, with both sections being joined without interruption and forming an obtuse angle of between 155° and 145°.
