The invention relates to a thermoformed lid 4 and a packing container for food, the former comprising a container lower part 1, which has a container base 2 and a container wall 3 that surrounds a receiving area of the packing container made of plastic, and comprising a container lid 4, which is to be arranged on the container wall 3 so as to close the receiving area 5. The container lid 4 has a lid base 6 and a circumferential lid wall 7 which is inclined relative to the lid base 6. A latching or snapping element 8, 28 is formed on the lid edge face pointing towards the lid center for releasably latching to the upper edge 9 of the container wall 3 and for holding the container lid 4 on the container wall of the lower part 1 as the container 1.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the production of lids (1) made of a foil material, for cups for storing liquids, wherein the film web (2) is fed into a first forming station (I). A shape (3) of a finished lid is formed in the film web by plastic thermoforming. The film web (2) with the lid shapes embossed in said web is then incrementally fed to further processing stations (II to IV). A plurality of lid shapes (3) may be deep drawn or embossed in a larger group and may be processed in groups by the plurality of stations, before they are separated into groups.
