Abstract

A shopping cart has a base, a basket that moves up and down, and a latching mechanism to secure the basket to the base in a variety of vertical positions. The base has wheels, and legs extending upwardly. The basket has receivers to receive the legs of the base. The latching mechanism has an activator, a bias member, and latching pins. The activator moves from a normal position to a biased position to move the latching pins from an engaged position to a disengaged position. The latching pins are removed from the openings in the legs when the activator is in the biased position, and the latching pins engage openings in the legs when the activator is in the normal positon to secure the basket at a variety of positions about the legs.

Abstract

A ride-on vehicle is provided that has a speed controlled switching system. The ride-on vehicle has a vehicle body having a driver's seat, a plurality of wheels, a motor, a battery electrically connected to the motor, a direction switch assembly electrically connected between the battery and the motor, and a speed switch electrically connected between the direction switch assembly and the motor. The direction switch assembly has a forward button and a reverse button, and is proximal the driver's seat in the vehicle body. The speed switch has a high speed setting and a low speed setting and is distal the driver's seat and generally not accessible by a rider seated in the driver's seat. When the reverse button is actuated the direction switch assembly causes the voltage observed by the motor to be at the low speed setting regardless of the setting of the speed switch.

Abstract

A power assist system for a wagon is provided. The power assist system provides a rotational force to one or more drive wheels under certain conditions to provide propulsion for the wagon. The power assist wagon preferably includes a drive system for providing the rotational force to the drive wheel, a control system for determining when the drive system should be activated and how much propulsion assist to provide to the drive wheel, and a power system for providing power to the drive system. The power assist wagon may also have a safety cut-off system to preclude the drive system from providing a rotational force to the drive wheel (16) even when the system is in the "on" mode.
