Internal components of plasma reactors are composed of a toleratable, ceramic filled plasma-useful polymer such as a high temperature engineering thermoplastic, preferably a polyamideimide or polybenzimidazole. The parts exhibit a low erosion rate upon exposure to plasma at low pressure.
C23C 16/00 - Chemical coating by decomposition of gaseous compounds, without leaving reaction products of surface material in the coating, i.e. chemical vapour deposition [CVD] processes
C23F 1/00 - Etching metallic material by chemical means

A method of manufacturing a composite gear blank comprises placing a rigid centerpiece (2) in a non-rotating mold (10, 12, 28), inertizing the mold, adding a liquid reactive mixture (M) until filling up the mold around the centerpiece, applying a static pressure to the filled up mold and allowing polymerization of the reactive mixture so as to form a plastic outer part surrounding the centerpiece. The composite gear blanks thus made have improved values of normal and shear adhesion strength both at room temperature and at elevated temperatures of up to 12O°C and are particularly suited for making worm gear parts of automotive electronic power steering systems.
B29D 15/00 - Producing gear wheels or similar articles with grooves or projections, e.g. control knobs
B29C 37/00 - Component parts, details, accessories or auxiliary operations, not covered by group or
B29C 39/10 - Shaping by casting, i.e. introducing the moulding material into a mould or between confining surfaces without significant moulding pressureApparatus therefor for making articles of definite length, i.e. discrete articles incorporating preformed parts or layers, e.g. casting around inserts or for coating articles
A lining laminate for corrosive media, particularly for hydrofluoric acid, comprises a sealing layer (2) made of a fluoropolymer and a lamination (4) that is applied onto one side of the sealing layer, said lamination comprising a knitted fabric which is partially embedded into the sealing layer and which partially protrudes. The knitted fabric is made from fully fluorinated polymer, in particular PTFE. In a method for producing the lining laminate, appropriate webs of the fluoropolymer and of the knitted fabric are continuously pressed together at temperatures above the softening range of the fluoropolymer.
Wide panels of UHMWPE having exceptional flatness and surface quality are ram extruded through a slit die equipped with a plurality of individually adjustable cooling zones proximate the panel exit slit and transverse to the machine direction which cool the by a back pressure device and preferably a vertical movement restraint. The process is robust and can be run for long product campaigns.
B29C 47/00 - Extrusion moulding, i.e. expressing the moulding material through a die or nozzle which imparts the desired form; Apparatus therefor (extrusion blow-moulding B29C 49/04)
UHMWPE panels of large width may be prepared by a continuous ram extrusion process by employing a slit die which preferably narrows from both sides in a direction transverse to the machine direction, and/or which employs a plurality of transversely positioned cooling zones located on the top and the bottom of the die, proximate the exit thereof. The panel exits the die at a temperature lower than the crystalline melt temperature.

B32B 3/30 - Layered products comprising a layer with external or internal discontinuities or unevennesses, or a layer of non-planar shapeLayered products comprising a layer having particular features of form characterised by a particular shape of the outline of the cross-section of a continuous layerLayered products comprising a layer with external or internal discontinuities or unevennesses, or a layer of non-planar shapeLayered products comprising a layer having particular features of form characterised by a layer with cavities or internal voids characterised by a layer formed with recesses or projections, e.g. grooved, ribbed
UHMWPE panels of large width may be ram extruded from a slit die in a stable process, by restraining a panel which exits the die below the crystalline melt temperature against movement away from the die by a back pressure device, so as to exert a back pressure between the back pressure device and the die, the back pressure device preferably constructed of a plurality of differentially adjustable elements so as to be able to compensate for changes in processing characteristics over time. Vertically restraining UHMWPE panels as they further cool also greatly improves product characteristics.
