Abstract

A peg for securing matting to the ground includes a shaft extending between a first end and a second end along a longitudinal axis, and a head portion extending radially outwardly from the first end of the shaft. The head portion has a contact surface, from which the shaft extends, for contacting the matting and holding the matting against the ground. The shaft has first and second threaded portions and first and second non-threaded portions. Each threaded portion has a screw-thread and is spaced apart from an adjacent threaded portion by a non-threaded portion. The first non-threaded portion extends from the second end and the second non-threaded portion extends between the first and second threaded portions.

Abstract

The present invention relates to ground drainage apparatus, suitable for draining soils, e.g. to reduce pore water pressure behind retaining walls or within clay slopes. A ground drainage apparatus comprises a ground anchor (100); and a length of conduit (15) providing a drainage channel for water. The ground anchor (100) comprises a socket (117) for locating a rod for driving the ground anchor (100) into the ground using the rod. The length of conduit (15) is secured to the ground anchor (100) by securing means (120) such that the length of conduit (15) directly engages the ground anchor (100). When the ground anchor (100) is driven into the ground in a driving direction, the length of conduit (15) is dragged through a passage in the ground formed by the ground anchor (100).

Abstract

The invention relates to ground anchors of the type which are attached to cables, rods and the like, which are driven into the ground and tilted transversely of the hole by tensioning the cable. Abstract

A ground anchor apparatus comprising: a ground anchor (10); a driving rod (90) locatable in a socket provided in the ground anchor; a strap (40) securable at one end thereof to the ground anchor, the strap having a strap ratchet provided by a set of teeth; and a cap (70) having a slot therethrough through which the strap can be inserted, the cap having a cap ratchet (43) provided by at least one cap tooth; wherein: the ground anchor (10) can be driven to a desired depth in ground by application of force to the driving rod (90) when located in the socket; the strap secured to the ground anchor (10) can be dragged into the ground as the ground anchor (10) is driven to the desired depth, with a second end of the strap (40) left above ground level; and the second end of the strap (40) can be inserted through the slot in the cap (70) with the cap ratchet (43) engaging the strap ratchet.
