Abstract
A quantification of a particular element comprised in magnetic particles enclosed in a volume involves applying a first time-varying magnetic field to the volume, having a first magnitude and a first frequency and applying a second time varying magnetic field, not parallel with the first magnetic field for causing precession of the magnetized particles. The second magnetic field is an RF field having a second frequency equal to the Larmor-frequency of the particular element. Thereafter the resultant magnetization originating from the volume and modulated by the time-varying field is measured, and at least one frequency component of the resultant magnetization is determined. A power and/or voltage of the at least one frequency component is calculated and a quantity of the magnetic particles enclosed in the volume is determined based thereon.

Abstract
Quantification of a particular element comprised in magnetic particles enclosed in a volume is described. Applying a first time-varying magnetic field, Bo(t) to said volume, having a first magnitude and a first frequency, fBo and applying a second time varying magnetic field, B1(t), not parallel with the first magnetic field Bo(t) for causing precession of the magnetized particles is performed. The second magnetic field is an RF field having a second frequency, fB1 equal to the Larmor-frequency, fL of said particular element. Thereafter the resultant magnetization, M(t), originating from the volume and modulated by the time-varying field is measured, and at least one frequency component fB1±nfBO,n=1,3,5,... of the resultant magnetization is determined. A power and/or voltage of the at least one frequency component is calculated and a quantity of the magnetic particles enclosed in the volume is determined based thereon.

Abstract
A system for determining a reconstruction of a particle distribution in an object based on electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurement data of the object comprising the distribution of particles is described. The system comprises a data input for obtaining electron paramagnetic resonance measurement data of the object under study. The system also comprises a processor for processing the obtained data by applying a numerical model for solving a numerical inverse problem of deriving from the electron paramagnetic resonance measurement data a reconstruction of the particle distribution. The system furthermore comprises an output port for outputting data based on the derived reconstruction of the particle distribution.

Abstract
A system and method involve performing electron paramagnetic resonance on an object under study. The system comprises a first field generator adapted for generating an orienting magnetic field for orienting the magnetization of the object under study and a second field generator adapted for generating RF excitation waves at a frequency to generate electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the object under test. The system also comprises a detection unit adapted for detecting the EPR signals emitted by the object under test and a control unit adapted for controlling the relative orientation of the orienting magnetic field induced by the first field generator with respect to the detection unit. The system furthermore comprises a processing unit programmed for combining detected EPR signals obtained using different relative orientations of the orienting magnetic field with respect to the detection unit.
