Abstract

An apparatus (110) for producing a locking ring on a closure cap for a container comprises a stationary fixture for a cutting knife (113) having a cutting blade (113.1, 113.2), wherein the cutting blade (113.1, 113.2) of the knife (113) accommodated by the fixture extends along a cutting section, and a transport installation for transporting a support mandrel (112) along the cutting section, wherein the support mandrel (112) is adapted for supporting a shell of a closure cap blank in such a manner that the shell during a cutting procedure is rolled on the cutting blade (113.1, 113.2). The support mandrel (112) has a rotatable mounting by way of which said support mandrel (112) is mounted so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis (B) oriented perpendicularly to the cutting section. Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a cutting geometry running in the circumferential direction, in particular for producing a locking ring, in a shell of a closure cap for a container, comprising the steps of providing the closure cap and transporting the closure cap by means of a transport device along a transport path.
